DEPARTMENT OF ZOOLOGY

The department of Zoology was started in the year of 2009 with the aim to provide the quality education in the field of Zoological sciences to the student of Deulgaon Raja taluka and adjoining rural area. At present the department conducts teaching programmes in zoology at UG level. The staff of the department is highly qualified and with diverse interests in research. The department have well equipped laboratories. The atmosphere of the department is student centric and healthy. The department is dedicated to educate the students through various curricular, co-curricular and extra-curricular activities. Zoology is highly allied to our life and natural processes. This enables the student to understand the principles of Environment, Life sciences and Health Sciences which forms the strong foundation for the various postgraduate studies. The subject covers a broad scope and importance in Science stream. The student who are thinking their career in competitive exams like MPSC and UPSC, can opt for Zoology subject as this is one of the important subjects in the main examinations of MPSC and UPSC. Not only this, but the subject is having great importance as far as the prelims of other competitive exams wherever science is included are concerned. There by helping them to clear such exams. Besides this, the students after studying Zoology can work for the betterment of the society by understanding the role played by animals in nature and ultimately raising their voices for the conservation of the endangered animal species. The subject is potent enough to make the students earn money for a living through cottage industries like Sericulture, Apiculture, Lac-culture, Pisci-Culture, Vermin Compost, Butterfly farming, Goat farming, Buffalo Farming etc. By gaining the knowledge of Applied Zoology, humans not only secure money but they also learn to control different types of pests. Talking about research opportunities in Zoology, there are still various aspects of the animals which are yet to be studied waiting for the attention of students.
