WORLD MOSQUITO DAY
World Mosquito Day commemorates Sir Ronald Ross’ 1897 discovery of the link between mosquitoes and malaria transmission. The event raises awareness about the threat of malaria and other diseases transmitted by the world’s deadliest animal.

ZOOLOGICAL SURVEY OF INDIA
Dhriti Banerjee has been appointed the first woman director of the 105 year old Zoological survey of India( ZSI ). The 51 year old has a distinguished career as a scientist. Dr. Banerjee is a PhD in Zoology from University of Calcutta. She had done her graduation from Presidency College, Calcutta and schooling from Mahadevi Birla Girls High School, Calcutta.
